THE CHANEL-MOBILE?
Posted - July 30th, 2009 - Archived
Forget the Batmobile. If fashion had a superhero, Coco Chanel would certainly be in the running. So just what kind of car would she arrive in to make an entrance? Well, we don’t know if Karl would agree or approve, but this sexy masterpiece created by South Korean student Jinyoung Jo would certainly have our vote…

When was the last time a sports car was designed with a woman in mind? The conceptual curves and the Chanel logo really say it all…

And a little pop of red inside is just the type of statement worthy of a superhero entrance.

HOLLYWOOD’S GIRL NEXT DOOR GOES BAD
Posted - July 29th, 2009 - Archived
In the latest editorial from V Magazine, perky little Cameron Diaz transforms from her usual girl-next-door style to a punky badass, and we’re loving the departure from her typical look…
Are you buying it? We’ll see if we can all take a darker side of Cameron when she appears in to more serious roles on the big screen later this year. For more on that, check out the article online.

TUESDAY TUNES: ZEE AVI
Posted - July 28th, 2009 - Archived
When we first heard Zee Avi’s single Bitter Heart, she had us immediately dreaming of Parisian cafes and loungy summer days. Little did we know that this sweet sound came from a young 23-year-old Malaysian girl with a fantastic little story to match her launch into the music world.
If you need further proof of her awesomeness, Zee was basically discovered via the Raconteursà drummer, Patrick Keeler, and recently signed by Jack Johnson’s label, Brushfire Records and released her self-titled debut in May.

What’s better than a LBD? A red hot clutch with quilting and zippers to spice it up.
Thank you, Christian!

ONE WILD SUMMER… AND FALL?
Posted - July 23rd, 2009 - Archived
We think most of you would agree that Lanvin’s leopard print dresses in bold colors like electric blue and hot pink have been one of the defining pieces of the summer season.

While designers like Cavalli have been using the animal print for years, many others are adding it to their latest collections in unconventional colourways. Which is just fine with us – we like our wild summers to run right into fall…
Boots by Balmain, bag and clutch by Jimmy Choo, dress by Single, scarf by Issa, top Roberto Cavalli. All available at Net-A-Porter.
GEORGIA JAGGER: THE NEW FACE OF HUDSON
Posted - July 22nd, 2009 - Archived
If you’ve seen the cover of WWD today then you already know: Georgia May Jagger – the youngest daughter of Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall – is officially the new face of Hudson Jeans. Yeah. We’re excited.

Last month, we held a very hush hush shoot with Jagger in London photographed by Mario Sorrenti and styled by Camilla Nickerson. JaggerÃs boyfriend, musician Django James (son of musicians Dave Stewart and Siobhan Fahey), will also be making a little appearance in the campaign.

For a little teaser of the shoot, check this clip out… and get ready for a seriously groundbreaking fall campaign from Hudson.
TUESDAY TUNES: LIGHTS
Posted - July 21st, 2009 - Archived
If you took one part Ashlee Simpson and stirred in a bit of intergalactic She-Ra, you’d get Lights – the adorable face of new indie pop whose songs seem to always include a synthesizer and videos that create a world of their own…
Whether you’re into her little make-believe world and sugary voice or not, one thing is for sure… the boys definitely love her!
