Not everyone in LA lives by the beach. Or owns a pool. Which is why we’re very thankful for the rooftop pool at The Standard - one of our favorites haunts for a little relief from the heat (not to mention a the party ensues after the sun has gone down).
As for what we’re wearing… why not start with a Hermes beach blanket and work from there?
Add a pair of Vienna Line sunglasses, Missoni bikini and comfy Musa sandals, and we’re all set. What’s your favorite summer haunt or hotel pool?
On Monday we found our perfect summer shades. Today we’re on to sandals, and we’re pretty sure there’s no need to look any further than Pour La Victoire for some seriously luxe looks to be rockin’ day to night, all summer long.
A little pop of electric blue would be perfection against a LBD.

Coral toned tan and studs? Swoon. These would definitely be our go-to pair for weekend casual.
Hello hotness. Need we really explain this pick?

And just to mix things up - a perfectly unexpected green.
Remember when all the senior guys in high school suddenly started dating Sophomore girls? Well, whatever the magic of that appeal, it’s definitely been captured by SOPHOMORE in their SS09 lookbook…
Comfy cotton t’s tanks and dresses have an American Apparel-esque aesthetic, and the colors are perfectly soft and summery.
Remember the magic of summer nights in high school? Yeah, so do we. We’ll take a few of those tank dresses just to re-live those days, thanks.
We’ve seen some slightly over-the-top pieces (everything from tennis racquets to cars) come out of the major design houses, but this latest creation from Fendi is one of the most ridiculous when it comes to luxury details.
The cream leather accessories - a key and bike chain cover and leather gps navigation holder - are perfection against the white finish. The detachable case is only logical - where else are you going to store your sunscreen and black Amex? But, fur saddlebags? Really? Apparently two buyers found them just as necessary, as they were snatched up at the recent event to launch the Abici Amante Donna bicycle.

Living in LA, we’re lucky to have a ton of killer vintage stores to sift through for amazing finds from jumpsuits to gowns, but for the rest of you who may not have such a mass of resources at your fingertips, it’s nice to have a site like The Frock.
From sleek vintage sheaths from Armani and Halston…
To layers of crazy detail from Balenciaga and Louis Feraud. The Frock offers some of the most well known fashion houses from throughout the decades with dresses in perfectly preserved shape.
They even have a bridal section. Really, who wouldn’t want to walk down the aisle in an authentic Adolfo Sardia or Givenchy?
One of our favorite online destinations for designer goodies, Net-A-Porter, launched a new site today, called The Outnet - where the same designer goodies are marked down to amazing prices. And, no, it’s not just seasonal. Check this out:
Matthew Williamson kimono dress, Jimmy Choo sandals, Kenneth Jay Lane necklace and Apsara bikini. Who says a girl can’t have it all for less?
We’re always on the lookout for beautiful lines that you won’t see on every other girl at the party, and Azzaro is one of them.
For the daytime weddings, we love the soft green ruffles. For a perfect day-to-night option, black and white always does the trick.
For a casual evening, sweet little polka dots on navy make this dress a winner for almost any occasion! And who can resist two tone pink against tan skin? (We’ll take those chunky bangles too).
Seems like everywhere we look, olive green hues are popping up for spring and fall. A few of our favorite selections right now…
The look for spring? A pair of silky harem pants like these (from DVF) paired with a loose neutral or gold tank. If you’re afraid of too much olive, try some accessories like this belt from Burberry, or shoes by Jimmy Choo.
Another hot spring style - the romper - comes in olive green from Anna Sui. Set off its safari style with lots of gold accessories to glam it up. The perfect balance, however, might be this dress from Alice + Olivia. The perfect dress to take you from spring all the way to fall (just add a little jacket once the weather gets chilly!).
Just when we thought we’d seen enough of the statement necklaces, we stumbled across the designs of Darby Scott and instantly knew we’d be ready to rock these organic inspired pieces anywhere.
We especially love rough-cut rings that come in smoky quartz hues contrasted with polished gold or silver bands. But, you know, we’d settle for the glamorous green malachite too.
Petals of faux amber also provide lots of nature inspired drama, and lazer cut wood bangles accented with colorful stones are perfectly playful for spring.
We probably should have seen this trend coming. With the upswing of ruffles, tiered skirts and floral prints was bound to come the resurgence of the modern prairie girl…
From designers like Zucca to Zac Posen, everyone seems to be creating their version of the ideal summer dress.
Smaller labels like Aussie’s Thistlepearl and indie favorite Kimchee have hopped on the style bandwagon as well. Are you ready to catch a ride? Or has this look had its day?
