Weeks of resort wear need to shared, analyzed, torn apart, and sighed over, but we’ve got one word to sum it all up: Neon.
From bright reds and purples…

From left to right: Donna Karan, Versace, Allegra Hicks, Versace.
To poppin’ yellows and greens…

From left to right: Malandrino, doo ri, Balenciaga, Jonathan Saunders
And seriously fun patterns.

From left to right: Naeem Khan, Michael Kors, Jonathan Saunders, Oscar de la Renta
Better jump on this trend before the summer is gone!
Now that you’ve got everything you need for some summer livin’, it’s time to hit the beach! Time to plan your staycation and pick a beach near you! For our own reference, we picked through Travel + Leisure’s Top 20 Beaches and came up with a few…
Number 10: Beach time baby.

Left coast: Far away from the big city beaches, Pfeiffer Beach in Big Sur, CA. offers a bit of peace and quiet… plus the drive up Highway 1 offers an amazing bit of scenery. If you’re looking to do things up East Coast style, might we recommend Cape Cod’s posh North Beach in Chatham,Mass? It’s sure to please even the pickiest beach lovers.
Then, of course, there’s the North and South..

A beach in Chicago? We had no idea… (maybe because we’ve never actually been there in the summer.) If you find yourself there this season, we’re sure that North Avenue Beach is a good way to beat the heat! Of course, if the point is to get out of the city, then this is about as good as it gets - the Cumberland State Park in Georgia offers miles of endless sand and marshes on this untouched barrier island.
It takes a lot to look hot in the heat of summer, but these products should help…
Number 9: Hot child in the city.

1. Bobbi Brown’s Beach Collection is a classic that is just made for warm summer nights. The moisturizing body oil nourishes and shows off that sun kissed skin after a long day at the beach.
2. Tarte’s mineral powder bronzer give you a perfect glow and comes in a glam gold croc case you can take anywhere!
3. Frederic Fekkai’s newest summer collection is a hair-saver! Our favorite is the zero humidity frizz control.
4. We loooove the Posie Tint from Benefit! It adds the perfect pink glow to lips and cheeks and it lasts all day long.
5. Save your skin from serious damage with a tinted moisturizer. Laura Mercier’s is tried and true, and now comes in more shades to match your skin tone.
6. Sunscreen that cools and covers? Count us in. Neutrogena’s Cooling Body Mist goes all the way up to SPF 70.
Products 2-5 available at Sephora
Everyone needs a maxi dress this summer… but for those extra hot days, you better throw in a mini too. Here are our picks for prints and basics.
Number 8: The long and the short of it.

Big patterns with an exotic twist are a hit for summer. Our long selection? DKNY. Short? DVF (who else?). Both available at net-a-porter.

Ready to go back to black? Try navy instead. We love this mix of casual elegance from Vera Wang’s Lavender Label - a jersey dress with stone detail? So hot. We also couldn’t possibly resist this sweet black ‘flutter’ dress from Loeffler Randall. Ruffled neckline and pockets? Done and done. So summery perfect!
Swimwear this season provides endless options: nautical, tribal, black & white, and lots of color… so we picked our favorite trend and stuck with it! Here are our top three:
Number 7: Bare it all

You just can’t go wrong with a splash of color by the pool: Missoni, Pucci, and JG4B, all available at net-a-porter.
We continue our summer must-haves with a little accessorizing…
Number 6: Blingin’ the Blues. Officially the color of the year, blue is back bigtime, so pick a statement piece in turquoise to add to your wardrobe! We also love a white hot bangle against tanned skin, and a dash of neon to set it all off…

Turquoise and diamonds make a fun statement in this ring from Ippolita. A simple white bangle from Anna Beck with gold tribal pattern is perfect day or night! Black pearls are punched up with neon in this necklace from Most Wanted Design by Carlos Souza. Bonus? Flip it either way to make it work for your ensemble.

Go for a statement piece with this stunning turquoise and gold necklace by Devon Leigh, or keep it simple with this deep blue acrylic ’stone’ set in brass from Kenneth Jay Lane. Take your pick from two shades of blue in this oversized cuff by Andrew Gn.
Number 5: Tune in, tune out. What summer guide would be complete without a great playlist for lounging by the pool, driving down the coast, or jetting off to vacation? This week’s Tuesday Tunes features seven selections from our favorite new albums just for you.
1. Vampire Weekend, Vampire Weekend
2. Death Cab For Cutie, Narrow Stairs
3. Lykke Li, Youth Novels
4. Panic At The Disco, Pretty.Odd.
5. The Submarines, Honeysuckle Weeks
6. MGMT, Oracular Spectacular
7. Duffy, Rockferry
We’re starting off your summer right with our Top 10 must-haves for keeping in style. Number one was finding he perfect pair of shades. Next up? Three picks to cover three hot trends…
Number 2: Let’s get nautical. Whether it’s the Riviera or the California coast, this sunny yellow and white striped bag from Marc Jacobs is perfect for a day at the beach.
Number 3: Hippie love. Believe it or not, tie dye is back. So kill two trends in one, and accessorize your L.W.D (little white dress) with a summery scarf like this one from TDM Design

Number 4: In the nude. The best shade for summer sandals this year is nude. For a subtle take on the gladiator look, we picked out these perfectly simple pair from Joie.

All styles available at shopbop.com.
Summer is officially here, and we’re officially ready for it. Are you? Good thing you have us then, because we’ve put together a list of our Top 10 must-haves to make this summer hot hot hot, and we’ll be sharing them with you all week!
Number 1: The future’s so bright, you’ll have to wear shades.

Kate Moss knows how to rock a pair of classic aviators, and Sophie Anderton shows off one of the hottest celeb styles. We wanted to have our cake and eat it too, so we went with these…

This pair from Dita is as hot as they get! Of course, a girl’s gotta have options, so our second pair would have to be something in the popular wayfarer style.

Sienna Miller and Anne Hathaway show that these shades don’t have to be reserved for the beach. We love the classic retro style from Oliver Peoples on Anne, or a combo of the red and tortoise shell Ray Bans like Sienna.

Apparently Hollywood has become the city that never sleeps, so when Kitchen 24 opened up last month, we were more than a little excited.

The menu - breakfast to dinner and late night - is sure to fulfill any craving. Executive Chef David Rosenberger takes American Diner Classics to a new level with items like…
Soda Jerk: A scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream floating on top of a shot of Amaretto and Dark Crème de Cacao in a malt glass.
Or, Smac and Cheese: Elbow Macaroni and a Three Cheese Blend of Cheddar, Mascarpone and Smoked Gruyère with Peas and a Basil Herb Crust.

Cool decor also takes this 24 diner up a notch in our book. We always feel swankier stuffing our faces at 3 A.M. in white vinyl booths with designer chandeliers. Needless to say, if the weekend takes us to Hollywood… it’ll also be taking us to Kitchen 24.
