An African safari seems to be on top of everyone’s list for summer vacations. Our pick? The Sand Rivers Selous in Tanzania.

The Camp is located in the northern part of the Selous Game Reserve, on the banks of the Rufiji River. Each room sits raised up above the water with an incredible view of the land. (Admit it - the images alone are already relaxing you.)

Luxurious, yet true to the African style, the rooms are stone and thatch, and feature simple amenities in open air suites. The best part? The ‘lodge’ only has five standard rooms, two suites, and a one-bedroom private house, so you know your stay will be quiet and intimate.

Of course, the highlight of the trip is the chance to enjoy a little safari across the reserve where you can mingle with elephants, rhinos and more! Sand Rivers also offers fly camping as an alternate to staying in the lodge. All visitors can partake in game drives, walking safaris, fishing, and boating as well.
If you were looking for a way to add a little adventure to your life… we just found it.
