In a recent interview with Rolling Stone Magazine, lead singer Liela Moss, was asked, “Why should people listen to the Duke Spirit?”

She answered: “Well, there’s no reason not to. Don’t they want to be healed? Don’t they want to be excited? Don’t they want to be turned on? Don’t they want to be set free?”

Indeed, Leila, indeed.

The Duke Spirit have been around since their debut in 2003 with a sound reminiscent of late 80’s rock mixed with Liela’s rough bluesy voice, but it’s their latest album, Neptune, that has really bumped up the buzz on this band.
